English class

Last lesson we took a look at a poem called ''The right word''. First we read the poem out loud and aterwads we analyzed the poem in depht, and tried to find its characteristics. After this we made the poem in to sort of a play, were we would represent one stanza each.

WTO

WTO stands for World Trade Organization, and is a global international organization. They deal with the trading rules between nations, and their goal is to help 
producers of goods and services, exporters, and importers conduct their business.







99%

The political slogan ''We are the 99%'' is a phrase directing to the majority aka the 99%, the middle and lower class. It reflects upon that the 99% has to pay the price for a tiny minority/ the 1%.





IMF

The IMF promotes international monetary cooperation and exchange rate stability, facilitates the balanced growth of international trade, and provides resources to help members in balance of payments difficulties or to assist with poverty reduction. Extract from the IMF homepage



WORLD BANK

The World Bank is one of the world’s largest sources of funding and knowledge to support governments of member countries in their efforts to invest in schools and health centers, provide water and electricity, fight disease and protect the environment. This support is provided through project or policy-based loans and grants as well as technical assistance such as advice and studies. The goal of the World Bank is to reduce poverty and to improve the living standards of the people in low and middle-income countries. UN

The UN or United Nations was founded just after the war in 1945 and its purpose was to maintain peace, and they still have lots of the same ideals today. The United Nations strongly promotes human rights, peace and equality.





Great Recession

The downfall in economic activity during the late 2000s is considered the worst since the great depression. (If you want to read about the great depression) It lasted from December 2007 to June 2009. The economic downfall began when the U.S. housing market went from boom to bust and large amounts of mortgage-backed securities and derivatives dropped significantly in value.








Occupy Wall Street

Occupy Wall Street is the name given to a protest movement that began 17th of september 2011 located in New Yorks fincancial district. They recived a attention on a global scale and thus spawning the Occupy Movement against social and economical inequality worldwide. 








Globalization

 is the process of international integration arising from the interchange of world views, products, ideas and other aspects of cultrue. Advances in transportation and telecommunications infrastructure, including the rise of the telegraph and its posterity the internet, are major factors in globalization, generating further interdependence of economic and cultural activities. NGOs

NGO or Non Goverment Organization is a Organization with no close relation to the Goverment nor owned by it.NGOs may be funded by governments, foundations, businesses, or private persons. Some avoid formal funding altogether and are run primarily by volunteers.
